Can I add more than one module to one kit/one computer?
Yes, with Jaltest you can have multiple modules on one PC – meaning you don’t need to carry around multiple pieces of equipment for working on different types of vehicles, just one PC and one link. Additionally, if you purchase multiple Jaltest modules, such as CV, OHW, MHE, AGV or Marine, you may be able to benefit from various multi-module deals also.
If I only work on trucks, do I have to buy the whole CV module or can I just buy the license for a specific vehicle type?
Yes! With Jaltest, licenses can be entirely tailored to your needs meaning that you can opt for, for example, just truck diagnostics or just van/LCV diagnostics, and you can even narrow it down further by purchasing the license just for a specific brand that you work on so you only pay for what you need.
Do you need Internet for Jaltest to work?
No, the majority of the Jaltest software can be accessed offline meaning you don’t need an Internet connection for general diagnostics such as connecting to the vehicle, reading fault code, test values, component locations etc, which is great if you’re mobile. What you will need an Internet connection for is some of the technical information, such as tightening torques, belt layouts. If it’s something you need, we do offer an LTE (4G) option for our Testpad which means you can put a SIM card in the Testpad and use mobile data to connect to the Internet or alternatively, many of our customers find it easy to hotspot off of their phone.
Will vehicles/data be removed in the future?
Unlike other tools, vehicles will never be removed in updates in Jaltest so if you’re working on older vehicles, you can have peace of mind knowing these vehicles and data won’t be removed.
Will Jaltest time out if you don’t pay the subscription?
No, if the license expires, it won’t time out – you can still use the software as a general diagnostics tool but you’ll lose access to some functionality such as expert mode, technical data and more, which is part of the reason why many choose Jaltest over other tools.
